Dumb question on nasal sprays

Sorry if this sounds dumb, but I'm not quite sure how these nasal sprays are supposed to work. Am I supposed to inhale them into my lungs? Or is something else supposed to happen?
I've been using ceretropic's 200mcg semax spray and at times i can taste it at the very back of my tongue, a particularly numbing feeling. This isn't supposed to happen, right?..

So, it gets absorbed in your nasal cavity and not in your lungs?

Yes, through the mucous membranes in your nasal cavity. You are not vaporizing it, and trying to inhale the vapor. You are spraying the particles over the mucous membranes in your nose, and allowing them to absorb that way.
