Came across this a few days ago while doing some googling for something. It's been discussed before that tianeptine may not just clump/gel with moisture, but degrade: www.reddit.com/r/Nootropics/comments/2kqt6d/psa_seems_tianeptine_doesnt_just_clump_with/

There is a long carbon sidechain on tianeptine, that is very susceptible to oxidation and UV light. There are at least 3 known products that it degrades into. I am working on a way to make the powder more stable, though. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/17626716
I found a patent for an improved version which also lists some sustained release mechanisms: http://www.google.es/patents/US8198268
The present invention relates to a novel sulfate salt of tianeptine, particularly tianeptine hemisulfate monohydrate, with improved properties. Such improved properties can include, but are not limited to, hygroscopicity, physical stability, and solubility. The invention also provides novel pharmaceutical compositions comprising tianeptine sulfate salt, methods of making tianeptine sulfate salt, and related methods of…

Last time I've checked one of our Chinese suppliers has it. Check again ;-)

Ohh, I can get it. I am saying that no retail vendors sell it. So people trying to do it at home will not be able to, unless they go direct to China.
