I scored quite high as a child on an IQ test given to me. Somewhere in the 140s. I've been thinking about retesting, but I'm afraid the score will be lower and my ego will suffer. What are your thoughts on the value of an IQ score?

Being confident that you are correct when you are not does more harm than good, IMHO. The key to success is balance.

I am talking about confidence in one's self, not confidence on a specific stance. I know there is a fine line, but I feel lack of confidence does more harm to society than overconfidence. Arrogant assholes would not be able to take advantage of as many people, if everyone was a little bit more confident in themselves.
