What is /r/Nootropics opinion on IQ?

I scored quite high as a child on an IQ test given to me. Somewhere in the 140s. I've been thinking about retesting, but I'm afraid the score will be lower and my ego will suffer. What are your thoughts on the value of an IQ score?

If you are afraid of getting a lower score, then don't do it. It's not like knowing it is going to give you any advantages. You might as well continue operating under the assumption you are a genius, because that will affect your confidence. Confidence is the real key to success. If you take it, and it makes you feel less intelligent, then that does nobody any good.
