Is sublingual 5htp safer or more effective than swallowing? I can't find much info on taking 5htp sublingually. I've even seen transdermal creams and patches.

Doesn't st john's wort act as an SSRI? How is it different than a low dose prescription SSRI? Does it take weeks to build up and have withdrawel symptoms?

No, it is not an SSRI. It modulates sodium channels. It has a very complex mechanism. There is no withdrawal. However, it does take 5 days or so to really feel the effects. I hate SSRIs. I get great results with Saint Johns Wort. Just stick with the Perika brand. They standardize to hyperforin, which is what you want.
