In fairness though Opiate withdrawl is fairly quick (been through similar with prescribed opiates). It does suck though but after a week you are over the worst.
Benzo's though can be fatal and take month's. I also think they have a much more "creep up on you" habituation.

Ohh, I agree. Benzo withdrawal is no joke either. I just never get any addictive tendencies with benzos. I never get any euphoria, or feeling of wanting more. I just use them when I have anxiety, and don't when I am fine. Opiates, for me, are a lot more devious. I did not even like them, till I had my shoulder surgeries. Then when you are forced to take them for long periods, they become a part of you. They creep into everything you do, until they stop giving, and start taking. Perhaps I have just never been forced to take benzos for long periods.
