Effectively use of caffeine
Original post in this thread

Hi everyone,
Just some background. I used to be the average student living on coffee, whether it be to study, work, or workout. I want to say I was taking in about 400-700mg of caffeine a day. During summer I decided to quit and clean up my sleep hygiene. I get about 8-9 hours of sleep a night, and have gone through the initial caffeine withdrawal stages for about a month or so. I have gotten back a fair bit amount of energy, but it feels like I am missing that edge coffee gives me when it comes to focus and mental endurance. Does anyone have advice on how to healthily reintroduce caffeine back into my life? Or any arguments against starting up again?
Thanks,
B

Caffeine withdrawal does not last a month. You should have been at baseline much sooner. Since you are still tired, there is most likely another underlying cause for your fatigue. The caffeine was most likely masking it.
Perhaps you are a poor methylator. Perhaps your vitamin B or D levels are low. Perhaps the sleep you are getting is not restful, due to something like sleep apnea. You are going to need to do some more experimenting to see what the issue is. Don't just start making it again with caffeine.
