Best type of magnesium to reduce amphetamine tolerance?

I've been taking 40mg Vyvanse for an long period of time and am looking for ways to reduce my tolerance. From what I've read it seems like chelated magnesium glycinate has the highest bioavailability, but l-threonate yields the best cognitive benefits so I'm not sure which one would be most effective. I'm currently taking Magnesium oxide that I found lying around, it's not great but it's better than nothing. Also, do I need to take the magnesium at the same time as the Vyvanse? I'm currently taking it at night after the Vyvanse has worn off because it makes me sleepy. Thanks!

Thanks, I definitely need some time off but I have a ton of academic pressure right now and have become somewhat dependent on it. I'm still in high school so i don't know how I could get memantine, but DXM might be an option. I also have a prescription for a methylphenidate. Would the tolerance carry over if I switched to that for a while?

Well my company sells memantine. You can also get it at a number of online pharmacies.
The DXM is more potent, but has more side effects. Also, it is an SSRI, so it interacts with a lot of other things. A lot of people don't know that. DXM is an SSRI. Its metabolite, dextrorphan, is the NMDA receptor antagonist. So it has to metabolize before it can help with tolerance, but you get the serotonergic effects first. That is also why a lot of people enjoy DXM trips.
And there is some cross-tolerance between amphetamine and methylphenidate. However, it's not a 1:1 ratio. Most people find methylphenidate builds up tolerance more slowly.
