Is anyone here using nootropics to treat or alleviate symptoms of OCD?
Care to share what worked for you and what did not? Please also state the severity and type of OCD you have.

Sorry to hear you have OCD, have you been diagnosed medically or is it more a personality trait you feel you have?
OCD can have quite an impact on your life and I'd personally recommend seeing a doctor about it rather than trying to self-medicate.
However cognitive behavioral therapy is highly effective and there are many books/podcasts/apps on this if you don't want to visit the doctor at the moment.
However medically, it is normally managed with the aforementioned CBT and with SSRIs (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors) which increase serotonin transmission in your brain. I have used this for OCD as prescribed by my doctor and it was highly effective, especially when using cognitive approaches also.
Ultimately though, I recommend seeing a doctor if it has started to impact your life, these things are much better treated early!

This is an interesting case where tianeptine, a selective serotonin re-uptake enhancer, worsened symptoms of OCD. So serotonin seems to play a role in the symptoms.
