On those mornings when my routine includes half a peach tab I know it will be a good work day

I was probably just reacting to the meth comparison... I was diagnosed with ADHD-PI at an early age and prescribed Dexedrine until high school when I switched to a doctor that didn't believe in stimulants and was promptly put on SSRIs and Xanax... worst years of my life. I've been prescribed stims since then for school but it's never been an easy prescription to get, even with a legitimate diagnosis. I know there are tons of docs that prescribe them way too frequently but there also seems to be a lot of people who are undertreated because of some of the prevalent negative attitudes towards taking stimulants for any reason.
But, yeah, articles promoting recreational use don't really help with that!

Yeah, I agree. There is a problem both ways. Some docs over-prescribe, while others refuse it to those that need it. Dopaminergic stimulants have their place in the treatment of ADHD. I think it's in everyone's best interest that they prescribe it to those that need it, and shy others away from its usage.
I also just had my second shoulder surgery, and am still having complications. So I may be projecting my annoyance at my doctors outward. It just seems to me that no doctors are informed enough about various issues, and/or are not giving the situations the appropriate level of considerations.
