Experiences with IDRA-21?

Original post in this thread

So I stopped using nootropics about 4 months ago because my experiences were never consistent. Three days ago I got an email from nsn announcing they started carrying an exciting new chemical, IDRA-21 . Because I trust nsn not to carry crap, generally, I purchased a gram on a lark, thinking I'd research it later.

It came in the mail today, and I start looking around, and there's very little info! A couple of scary posts re safety, but no anecdotes or suggestions re dosage.

So what are the thoughts around here? Had anyone tried it? If so, what kind of dosage and what were the effects? Does anyone have an idea of whether alcohol (a few drinks) would have a detrimental effect? Should i just toss the stuff? Thanks!

What they were answering

Don't trust anyone blindly. Don't even trust me without first researching yourself. Even we are going to be bringing out substances that are not for everyone. So doing your own research, and deciding for yourself, is key.

IDRA-21 is too new to the community for you to get the definitive answers you are looking for. I have some on the way to try, so I will be getting a feel for it soon. However, there are a couple things to be aware of.

There is evidence that IDRA-21 exacerbated AMPA excitotoxicity during stroke. This makes sense, as it is a powerful AMPAkine. It seems to not be voltage-dependent, where it will close the channel before too high of Ca^2+ influx into the neuron. So one needs to be careful mixing it with other stimulants that will raise glutamate levels.

As far as dosages are concerned, start low. I'd say start at 5mg to make sure you don't have a bad reaction. Then you can slowly up it to about 25mg.

As far as the anecdotal info you are looking for, I cannot answer that. I would not drink alcohol while on it until you can get a feel for it. I would also abstain from any stimulants, including caffeine, on the days you trial it.

Has anyone tried Excelerol? I'm interested in trying it because it is apparently one of the best nootropics out there, but I'm a bit suspicious because I've never heard anyone talk about it on this subreddit.

Yep, my fault guys. I'll just stop posting, and things will get better. It's all on me... You can all go back to caffeine/L-theanine, long winded modafinil, and "does piracetam work" posts. No need to advance the communi

A Note Regarding Ceretropic's Caffeine/NALT

TLR were not telling people the ingredients. I never expected them to explain their production processes. I expected them to tell people the compounds they were consuming, rather than giving them proprietary names. I did

What is the best nootropic for someone looking primarily for a boost of energy and motivation that's stronger than caffeine but less extreme than amphetamines?

Replying to [deleted] · In case anybody wants to accomplish this with drugs, I've been using 60mg vyvanse + 1g psilocybin mushrooms for a while. Take both with a hardy meal and 2 glasses of water.

Are you joking or serious? You take amphetamines and a low dose of psilocybin as nootropics?

Less may be More

Replying to Reeses007 · Totally agree with this. I would recommend people trying ingredients by themselves in order to build a stack that they react well to. I've never understood the mentality to use abs

This is a big problem I am seeing with people new to nootropics. They want to immediately jump into a stack, and do not want to put in the time to try thing by themselves, and see how each one affects them in isolation.
