I assume it means they may be paying for the study to be done rather than just donating magnesium or whatever to the USC study's people. I'm not sure what it means beyond that.

Doesn't all this seem a little weird to you? I mean, it's seems like a relatively simple study, which is looks like it's being funded by the people who have a vested interest in it's sale. You would think they would get that study moving as fast as possible, so they can justify their higher priced version.

That article has a representative from AIDP saying that the study already started in November 2011! Their results were supposed to be available mid 2012, but now they are telling you that it's still in the design phase in 2013?!? Something seems fishy to me.
Maybe I am being overly skeptical, but it just seems strange. Especially now having tried it myself and not noticing a difference.
