Dosing of NA-R-ALA (Alpha Lipoic Acid) as a nootropic?

I know ALA dosing is very specific to the desired effect. At low doses is it a rather nice antioxidant. At super high mega doses (over 1000mg IIRC) it is an awesome dietary aid. I have seem some talk about ALA as a nootropic (specifically for ADHD), at what doses is it effective for this?

1 gram of Na-R-ALA is going to be super expensive.
Correct, about $5, but it is useful for Ketogenic diets. If you over do it on carbs, you can take 1g of Na-R-ALA and drop yourself back into a ketogenic state really quick.
Alpha lipoic acid is not a nootropic on it's own. It's usually used as a protective antioxidant along side ALCAR.
Ah OK, that explains things, thanks!

Yeah, that could work. I've seen a few anecdotes of people using high doses of ALA for dietary purposes. However, I would not make it a regular thing till we're sure there is no risk of adverse effects.
