Dosing of NA-R-ALA (Alpha Lipoic Acid) as a nootropic?

I know ALA dosing is very specific to the desired effect. At low doses is it a rather nice antioxidant. At super high mega doses (over 1000mg IIRC) it is an awesome dietary aid. I have seem some talk about ALA as a nootropic (specifically for ADHD), at what doses is it effective for this?

Alpha lipoic acid is not a nootropic on it's own. It's usually used as a protective antioxidant along side ALCAR. 1 gram of Na-R-ALA is going to be super expensive. Nobody will use that much. Also, high doses are known to enhance sensitivity to insulin, and could lead to thiamine deficiency.
