How to take Ritalin correctly

you seem informed so maybe you can help me here...Adderall works for me, that's for sure. I don't get cranked out euphoria with infinite focus anymore on adderall. This is as expected. But I've noticed that it's very dehydrating for me. No matter how much water I drink, I just piss it all out, colorless and odorless. It's like my body won't absorb a lot of water. Is there anyway to fight that? MY usage has been Concerta for a 2 months, then adderall for 4-5 months then off it for over a year and back on adderall for last 3 months. I take it everyday; bad, I know. I considered switching to vyvance but university coverage doesn't qualify it as of yet. Is it worth it to try dex or just stick to adderall?
I've been toying with the idea of modafinil bc of repeated mentions on this subreddit and I like how it's not a stimulant and still helpful. Would a doctor have any objection if I suggest a short term use of it?
Edit: I hover between around 15-30mg a day right now. 2x15mg adderall xr.

Are you drinking electrolytes? Coconut water is an awesome natural one, or you can get electrolyte enhanced water. You should also be taking magnesium glycinate every day with your amphetamine. It will help with tolerance and protect your calcium channels.
Vyvance is just a prodrug of dextroamphetamine. You could also ask your doctor for Dexedrine, which is pure dextroamphetamine. Leaving out the levoamphetamine smooths it out.
You could try and see what your doctor thinks about modafinil. I don't think he's have any issues with it, since he already has you on amphetmaine. It's fucking expensive though. You could get a trial pack online to test it out before you get a prescription if you want. Modafinil is going to be much different than amp though. I think taking a modafinil, L-theanine, bacopa, and noopept stack would work well, in place of your amphetamine. You should try it out and see.
