You never have Muslims like this in the mainstream media.

I know what you mean. Everything is relative, really. But I guess the best I can do is stick firm to my beliefs and hope some good comes out of it. I believe that compassion, respect, empathy, and positivity are key to coexistence and I cannot rationalize any situation in which those factors would lead to negative outcomes. I think they should be embraced by all, but I also know that life isn't that simple. In all honesty, I'm actually a nihilist just trying to look at the brighter side of things. We're all dead eventually, so nothing really matters? Life is tricky, man...
EDIT: You probably won't really care, but your comment really inspired me to stop discussing ideas on the internet and get out of the house to perform positive actions. So thank you :)

I have those same beliefs. However, I also realize that sometimes people need the hard truth. I am a fairly unique person. I have boundless empathy, and just want everyone to be happy and the best they can. Sometimes that means telling them what others are too afraid to. Sometimes that means calling them out, not in a malicious way, but in a way that could lead them to bettering themselves. At first, some people think that I am arrogant or that I think that I am better than they are, because I don't let things slide. However, they come to realize that if I were to hold them to a different standard than I held myself, that would truly be arrogant. That's not because I am looking down on them, that is because I see them as equals. I just have very high standards that I hold myself to. If more people realized that fact, then we could all do away with this offended bullshit and coexist! I'm ok with you pushing me, because I am going to be pushing you too. We all can be better than what we are now. We just need to push each other.
