Because those CEOs are not breaking any laws. You can put sugar pills in a bottle, and call it anything you want as long as it's listed as a "supplement".

That's not true. Label claims and concentration are absolutely regulated. Read 21 CFR 111. All supplements have to be at or above label claim, within reason. The USP monograph generally allows for a 10% variance, so that means supplements should contain 100-110% of what they claim to. It's just not evenly enforced. That doesn't mean they are not breaking the law by not adhering to the regulations. It would make their products misbranded, by definition. That can be both a civil and criminal violation.
