These companies need to be issuing recalls, refunding customers, and openly admitting to customers what went wrong.
I totally agree but we both know that will likely, never happen.
I have. You can buy from us and not ever worry that you won't get what you think you are.
I know, and I do, and you know I do, but, the problem is you don't sell everything we need. For example, multivitamins. I don't know if you can test those? I'd be willing to send you some AOR Nutrition stuff if you want to test it... it's supposed to be the best of the best in the multivitamin world, but I have my doubts. If you sold a multivitamin, or better yet a day/night multivitamin pack, I would bin them in an instant, like I did my LE D3 and Super K's.
Same with L-Glutamine. Which is an awesome amino acid for me, you don't sell it, and now I don't trust anyone else who does. What to do? I can get it tested here in the UK, at incredible expense, but then I've spent a fuckton of money testing just one jar of product. One testing company quoted me £300, which I hear is quite cheap, but thats £300 to test one jar of product that cost £17. And if it passes, that doesn't mean the next jar will be genuine.
It's a shame you can't buy microwave sized domestic testing equipment lol

We are actually working on a multivitamin now. Myself and /u/Pretty-Chill are coming up with the formula. Hopefully we can get that finalized and out soon. Regarding L-glutamine, we have been thinking of releasing a version of that as well. There is a facility here in the US making biofermented amino acids that we might have produce for us. They are a bit more expensive, but Vegan, made in the US, and high quality.

The problem is that doing chemistry right is complex. You could get a simple tablet top FTIR/ATR, but that will only tell you so much. Actually getting meaningful results takes more complex chemistry, and orthogonal techniques to make sure things are right. I've spent millions of dollars on our lab, and we still need to send off to other partner labs for things we can't yet do. Chemistry is just much more complex than most people realize.
There needs to be some FDA standard that all companies HAVE to adhere to, but the problem with getting the FDA involved is I fear it's more likely that the products will just get banned from sale, which is what I assume has happened with a certain synthetic class recently, again assuming this is because of those dodgy people putting them into stacks that made the news last year; thanks to a minority of idiots, everyone suffers.
Well there kind of is. It's a big myth that supplements are unregulated. We are regulated to death! The issue is enforcement. There are tons of regulations we need to follow. However, the issue is there is little consequence to not following them. It's not a lack of regulations. It's a lack of fair enforcement. I do share your fear, though. The government doesn't really do nuance, and banning things is more in their wheelhouse than anything.
I take it however, if you sue them, and run discovery, you won't be able to share the results of discovery publicly anyway, which defeats the point of customer awareness with regards to trash brands?
Yeah, information gathered in discovery is going to usually be under protective order from the court. It depends on the case and judge, though. Many times in cases of consumer protection that information is not under protective order, because it is in the public's best interest to see it. Also, if I were to start filing lawsuits, our terms would be such that public disclosure of the information would be crucial to us entertaining a settlement agreement. I don't want brands to just try to quietly pay us off. If we filed lawsuits, we would want public admissions of wrongdoing and disclosure of things to consumers.
