Y'all need to stop taking things so seriously. It's a joke ad! The past year has basically been the worst year of my life, yet I am still here trying to laugh when I can. Laugh a little. It's meant to be cheesy. It's meant to make some people that see it laugh. It's meant to draw people's attention. And let's be honest, it is obviously working. We have spent millions of dollars on ads over the internet for many years. Not once has someone screenshot one and posted it here. Not once. This is also targeting a few bodybuilding subs, like /r/swoleacceptance. I am not targeting 45 year old accountants with this ad. It's targeting bodybuilders who can take a joke. It was also meant as a test of Reddit's ad systems.
Our old Reddit ads sucked. Like not semi good... flushing cash down the toilet bad. They were just basic ads. Here is who we are. Here is a coupon. Click here to learn more. Nobody clicked. Nobody even looked twice at them. Everyone just ignored them. I needed an ad that would draw attention so that I could see if Reddit's ads systems were even worth the money, and I figured I could make a few people laugh in the meantime.
