Help Taking Magnolia Bark
Original post in this thread

Recently I got a sample sized Magnolia Bark Extract (95%) and have been experimenting on how to get the best effect. Orally at doses up to 300MG it does hardly anything, I have even tried 300 then another 200 a couple hours later. However sublingually it has quite a profound effect at only 100-200mg. But it absolutely destroys my mouth taking it that way, like it feels like I severely burned my tongue. Reading reviews on the stuff I see a mix of people saying you have to take it sublingually, and others saying sublingual burns the mouth, so I know I am not alone in this.
Does anyone know a way to maybe neutralize the powder so you can take it sublingually, or do I just need to try a high dose orally like 500-700mg? Is there anything that might increase the oral bioavailability?

Maybe u/misteryouaresodumb can chime in on this?
It doesn't really feel like a ph issue because I don't feel the discomfort under the tongue where the powder is. It's the top of my tongue and taste buds that get tingly and numb and then feel burnt for 24-48 hours afterwards.
I wonder if maybe dissolving it into a grain alcohol tincture would both dilute it and allow it to absorb quickly so you don't have to hold it in the mouth as long?

Hmmm, tingling that affects taste buds for 24-48 hours. Weird. One of my employees says he has the same. It's like putting black pepper under his tongue. It's weird you are only feeling it sublingually, though. I wonder why?
