the thing is most people don't read the facts and they will believe something at face value without any evidence or references, it's unfortunate because speculation gets upvoted more than articles, someone tested this theory by adding a clickbait titles on a post in reddit while having the linked article completely unrelated and it got thousands of upvotes which proved more people didn't read the article than did and then upvoted purely based on the title without reading any of the article, people like ideas but don't like to read into the ideas, they like results but don't like to read or confirm the process, they don't care about the how.

i would love the a world where people only read facts and only react without trying to skew data so it can be read in certain ways, but it's just not how the world works, it's up to you mods i guess to try make this happen, it will be difficult so i wish you luck in it.

i don't have the answers on what to do, i was just pointing out as we become more and more "mainstream" then i believe more and more misinformation can spread, i wish i could stop it, but i don't think there is a way to stop it, for example someone can say they felt a way about a product then other people can take a product creating a placebo effect as they expect certain results, i'm not expecting action again, just wanting people to be aware of it i guess, which i'…

I agree, that's a big problem. However, it is a much bigger problem than we here at /r/Nootropics are going to solve. Misinformation is probably the single biggest problem the modern internet is facing. The issue is that to fix it you need a central authority deciding what is and is not true. Then you have a small group of people that are the arbiters of truth. That comes with its own pitfalls. It really is a challenge that will be very tough to find a solution for. A more educated and scientifically minded populace is needed, but the solution to that is a better education system and time. Unfortunately, too many people profit off the way the system currently is to really have a push in the direction we need.
