Don’t waste your money on NALT (N-Acetyl L-Tyrosine). The bioavailability is remarkably poor. If you want to supplement Tyrosine, might as well get the (usually) more cost-effective and more bioavailable L-Tyrosine.

I remember you talking about it 4 years ago. In fact, I bookmarked it! NALT works better for me too, and it takes a fraction of the L-tyrosine dose. But I'm REALLY curious why some feel better from NALT and others, L-tyrosine.
Conversely, I wonder why NAC is so widely used compared to L-cysteine which also has good research behind it. (Fun fact: NAC is banned in supplements in Singapore)

People like to think everyone's receptors are the same. However, the shape of our various receptors differs between people. Even some substances work by changing the shape of the receptor complex, which makes binding of other things more likely. I have a feeling there is some biological difference in certain people that makes it so that acetyl groupings prevent proper binding to certain receptor complexes. I think people like to assume things are much simpler than they actually are. Just look up the 3D structures of various receptors in your body, and you will realize we are simplifying complex things waaaaaaay down when we talk about them.
Look at the 3d modeling of the D2 receptor docking of the allosteric modulator SB269652.
