Per the title, is Chaga a 5AR inhibitor? I'm looking for ways to boost immunity but had a really better experience with Reishi. got super weepy, demotivated and practically depressed.

MYASD, I think it's time ND starts offering a sorghum extract product, and possibly l carnitine l tartrate(to upregulate AR). Sorghum extract is probably the most potent 5ar inducer ive ever used. Can give some of these guys a piece of mind, when they cant stop getting erections and thinking about sex, they might begin to realize that high levels of androgens is as distracting as ADD. (Ex steroid user, current TRT/HCG/HGH enthusiast, who uses androsterone as an AI.)
Also many guys taking alot of anti inflammatory supplements need to realize that alot of times, their weak sexual function might be due to the inhibition of prostglandins from all of the anti inflammatory supplements they are taking. Which brings me to another product suggestion, Boswellia extracts - more specifically AKBA. Really effective anti inflammatory working through the 5 lox pathway.
EDIT: Also while im suggesting, since you already offer PEA, how about a palmitoylethanolamide + luteolin(pealut) combo supplement like mirica and glialia?

Wait, what I am seeing is that sorghum extract actually decreases 5-AR expression and inhibits it. Where are you seeing it induces it?

DSEE inhibited weight gain of the prostate; decreased mRNA expressions of androgen receptor and 5α-reductase II; and improved histopathological symptoms, the protein-expressed ratio of Bax/Bcl-2, and the oxidative status of BPH induced by testosterone in SD rats. Therefore, DSEE may have potential as a preventive or therapeutic agent against BPH.
The groups administered with DSEE (50, 100, and 150 mg/kg)showed significantly lower levels of AR and 5α-reductase II than the BPH control group(Figure 3), indicating that DSEE provided protection against the testosterone-mediated elevation of the mRNA expression of these enzymes.
In the present study, treatment with DSEE significantly inhibited the testosterone-mediated increases of AR and 5α-reductaseII in prostate tissue. The enzyme 5α-reductasecatalyzes dihydrotestosterone from testosterone;5α-reductase II isozyme is more potent than 5α-reductaseIinhumanprostatetissue[35]. Dihydrotestosterone is a more potent androgen than testosterone because of its higher affinity for AR [36]. Thus, the inhibition of the mRNA expression of AR and 5α-reductase II by DSEE has a potent impact against BPH.
So that is saying that sorghum does the opposite, and lowest DHT through inhibition of 5-AR.

Yes, other pathways are likely more at play than DHT. I agree with that.

Luteolin is one we are working on, actually. It's a really cool one.
