MYASD Have you ever thought about making informational videos reflecting blog post content?

As in 15 minute illustrated segments on particular supplements. Would be really cool. I think an expository documentary about the industry would be amazing as well, but doubt you want that kind of heat/have a conflict of interest there.

We do have some videos. They are just generally shorter product highlight videos. I also mostly did them for the Natrium products. If you look on the main Natrium site you can see them under the stack pages.

You can see them on our Natrium Health YouTube channel, too.

We have a few on our Nootropics Depot YouTube channel as well.

I did most of those videos myself. I never really did any video stuff before, so I wanted to try my hand at it and see what I could do. I also did the brand videos you see on our Amazon listings. We had to migrate our marketing team to the new Adobe Creative Suite, so I figured I would get a license for me, too. I built a new computer for my desk to be able to render them, then taught myself After Effects. I got us a bunch of subscriptions to stock photo/video sites for assets to use in the videos. We also have a professional photographer in our marketing department now. So she can do images as well. She actually stumbled upon wild bacopa growing in a park here in Phoenix! So some of the images we have used have been ones we have taken in the wild. I want to do more videos, but it is a very time-consuming process. I need to get someone on my team up to speed on After Effects and Premiere. It doesn't make sense for me to spend my time creating and rendering videos on an ongoing basis. I have a lot of other things on my plate that require my attention. However, I do like to do things myself first and learn how they work. That way I can build a process and team around something I actually understand. Too many companies are run by people at the top that have zero idea how anything actually gets done in their organizations.
Regarding videos, we found that most people only watch 30 seconds or less. So if you make longer ones, people usually skip or leave after 30 seconds. Obviously longer more educational ones are going to be seen by a different crowd. That's something I eventually want to do. However, I need to build a team and process around it first. No way are we coming up with, story-boarding, shooting, editing, then rendering long educational videos without a dedicated team for it. I need to make sure there is a business case for spending that time and money on it first. I gravitate toward jumping headfirst into things that I think would be cool. However, that's not always best from a business perspective. I've learned that I need to not push my team too hard and fast all the time. So it is definitely something I will do at some point. I just need to make sure I am not spreading us too thin in the process.
