Alpha-GPC is VERY hygroscopic. It will pull moisture from anything it can find. If you've ever bought our 99% in powder you will see that. We seal them in jars with induction lids, then we also vacuum seal the entire jar so that it remains stable before being sent to customers. However, once you open it, if you live in a state like Florida and don't properly store it, you will see just how fast it sucks in moisture. This is why many people buy the 50% powder instead. You have to take twice as much, but it is easier to handle. We are luckily here in Arizona with how dry it is. Plus, we run our ACs most of the year, which pull even more moisture out of the air. So things are generally extremely stable in our environment, but climates with more moisture in the air are not so lucky. When alpha-GPC absorb moisture from the air, it becomes more like a gel. That's what you are seeing there. The capsule material is plant cellulose, which does not absorb moisture anywhere near as much as the GPC. We have a tough time with our softgels, too. Alpha-GPC is so hygroscopic that is pulls some of the moisture out of the softgel material! That's how hygroscopic alph-GPC is. It's one of the most hygroscopic things out there.
What part of the country are you in? What environment were they stored in? We have a section on the site discussing the hygroscopic nature of alpha-GPC, but we only have it on the 99% powder page. I'll have my team put more obvious warnings on all the GPC listings. Properly storing alpha-GPC away from moisture is crucial. They will still work the same. However, we can replace the bottle for you if you would like.
