LAURELIA NOVAE-ZELANDIE EXTRACT (-PUKATEA-).
Māori used the bark of the tall pukatea (Laurelia novae-zelandiae) tree as a painkiller, boiling the inner layer to make a decoction. Pulped inner bark was also held in the mouth to ease toothache. Pukatea bark contains pukateine, which has a chemical structure similar to morphine. It was first isolated in 1910 by Bernard Aston, the first chemist at the Department of Agriculture.
Pukatea is supposedly an analgesic similar to morphine (Similar chemical structure).
This herb contains a Pukateine which is a D1/2 receptor agonist (IC50: 0,4/0,6 muM) but also a dopamine reuptake inhibitor with an IC50 of 46muM.
The D2 receptor agonism (like LSD, Salvinorin A and anti-parkinson drugs) may explain the reported dissociative effects.
It also shows alpha1-adrenoceptor affinity and antioxidant activity.
I have personally not trialled this herb for any purposes, however, it has piqued my interest.
Let's get some discussion going!

I don't think I got quality sleep, though.
I'd recommend an Oura ring (https://ouraring.com/) for better quantitative assessments of sleep when trying out new stuff.
For example, I discovered taurine makes a large positive impact on my nighttime HRV. (on average adding 30ms+ over no taurine before bed)
