What about nicotine as a nootropic? It's worked wonders for me when used acutely.

I really like nicotine. It's great for focus and stimulation. However, I have never really attempted to measure my recall and recognition of things I have learned while on it in a naive state. It could very well be helping some aspects of my cognition, while also slightly impairing my memory.
