/r/nootropics "clinical trials"?

Original post in this thread

Had an idea while I was at work today. What if we, as a subreddit, ran our own form of clinical trials and aggregated the results?

For example, we vote on a specific compound to try - say BPC-157. We decide a duration for the study, RoA, and dose. Users can then join if they want and then log how they've been affected daily, also noting what other things they've been taking with it (if applicable).

No, this won't be nearly as accurate as a proper clinical trial in the least bit - but it will still help create a repository of information, if even anecdotal, to help users to understand what to expect from certain substances and combinations of them.

If wanted, we could even ask on certain "trials" for medical results, like blood work or whatnot, to see if we can determine how something might affect someone's health.

Any thoughts? Maybe if this idea gets enough interest the mods could help host these?

Ah. I was not thinking about a single user on here distributing, unless a vendor themselves were to do it (like /u/MisterYouAreSoDumb). I was thinking it would just be up to the user to procure it.

I proposed that years ago. When I actually started to get into the details, and spoke to people who did statistical analysis and ran studies, the consensus was that our data would be useless in a scientific sense. It would be cool to see from an informal sense. However, it would not be scientifically valid without a lot more work. That type of work then puts you into a whole new regulatory process with the FDA. It's a lot of time, effort, and money to do properly. It's something we are going to do down the line on some new products we are developing. However, it's going to be done properly, so the data is accurate and meaningful.
