Same product, different vendors, different results. Is this normal? Powder City/Ceretropic

Due to the Great Powder City Crisis of 2016 I had to find another source for my Adrafinil. I researched reputable vendors and finally settled on Ceretropic. My experience with PC's Adrafinil has always been clean, long lasting and extremely effective. The Adrafinil from Ceretropic felt off, clunky and delayed. I had to reconfigure dosage all over again even though I've been using Adrafinil for almost a full year now, in the end wasting product and therefore money. I am not saying that something is wrong with Ceretropic's product, only that it did not give me the specific effects that I have come to associate with Adrafinil.
What I want to know from you, O Great Reddit Community, is if differences like these are to be expected from one vendor to the next, or if nootropics and their effects are generally consistent across the board. I have only ever used PC, so I have nothing but this one instance to use as a comparison.
I'd just like to have a reliable backup in case something like this temporary shortage happens again in the future. What say you, wise ones? Should I expect similar experiences in the future with other companies? Have you?

personally, I thoroughly enjoy the adrafinil from powder city but not the kind from ceretropic. this could, however, be to other factors --- the period of time I took adrafinil from powder city, I was taking certain substances, not taking certain substances, doing certain things, not doing certain things, etc. compared to when I was taking the adrafinil from ceretropic, and my environment \ situation was different both times. so many confounding variables.
they undoubtedly are different products, though. you can research it and you'll find people discussing that there's 'dark' adrafinil {pinkish in my opinion}, which is the kind ceretropic sells, and then light \ white adrafinil, which is what powder city sells.
sidenote: another user stated that ceretropic sells both kinds, but they don't, only the dark-pink kind.

When did Powder City start selling the light Adrafinil again? I cannot find it anymore, and Nathan told me he can't either. When did you get it from them?
