DEA to place Mitragyna speciosa (Kratom) and its active alkaloids mitragynine and 7-hydroxymitragynine into Schedule I on 30. September 2016.

What they were answering

Do you think there is any chance of this being averted?

u/MisterYouAreSoDumb · Ceretropic & Nootropics Depot

I highly doubt it. The DEA doesn't give a shit what people think. We could get every American in the country to call them and express their issue with this scheduling, and they would just ignore it. They literally think they are like parents talking to children. They just know what is best for us, and we have to listen to what they say, because they are our superiors. To them, us calling to express our outrage at this would be like a child crying because they can't have ice cream for dinner. They literally think they know what is best for everyone, and do not give a shit what people say about it. They will ruin people's lives to maintain the illusion that they are here to protect us and to maintain law and order.

Not that I do not think everyone should do everything they can to try and stop this, and express their outrage at it. They most certainly should. I just do not think the DEA will stop either way.
