Black Widow Venom as a nootropic?
Original post in this thread

Black Spider venom stimulates acetylcholine receptors, which are commonly located in muscles and limbs (hence clinched muscles and spasms) and the brain (hallucinations). Could this venom be chemically separated and diluted to create a supplement that stimulates acetylcholine receptors just enough to safely increase cognitive ability?

microdose black widow venom
What is your take on the quote, "The dose makes the poison"?
Dare I say, I think its a little (only a little...) dumb of you to call this dumb so absolutely. However, your point remains about there being much better ways to enhance ACh release.
edit: i think peopleprogrammer's "nanomolar" note has me reconsidering this haha. you never know though, maybe at the femtomolar scale though lol.

Yes, it's the dose the sometimes makes the poison. Other times things are just poisons. Haha. Alpha-latrotoxin is a potent and dangerous venom. Perhaps it could be studied and used to create a new compound that could be used as a nootropic. However, there is no way you could use any dose of Alpha-latrotoxin as a nootropic.
