It's interesting. I often see comments on here criticizing lion's mane mycelium products, but this post on longecity links several studies indicating that the most potent NGF stimulators are the mycelium-based erinacines.
Now, obviously, a product that is mostly rice won't do anything, but I really wish there were a legitimate dual-extracted mycelium powder on the market.

Ohh, I completely agree for Lion's Mane. The mycelium has benefits. It's just not a mushroom, and you cannot cite studies that use whole fruiting bodies as evidence for mycelium's effects; as many people do. Also, as you said, a product that is mostly rice is not even the same as pure mycelium. I would have no problem with people selling a pure mycelium product, as long as it was labeled properly and not called a mushroom. You can make pure mycelium using a liquid culture technique. My issue is more with the mycelium on grain products, and the labeling issues.
I am planning on working on some pure mycelium extracts soon, though. Another one where you can get pure mycelium cultures is Cordyceps sinensis.
