Black Widow Venom as a nootropic?
Original post in this thread

Black Spider venom stimulates acetylcholine receptors, which are commonly located in muscles and limbs (hence clinched muscles and spasms) and the brain (hallucinations). Could this venom be chemically separated and diluted to create a supplement that stimulates acetylcholine receptors just enough to safely increase cognitive ability?

No, that's dumb. Alpha-latrotoxin will fuck your shit up. It does not just lightly stimulate ACh. It inserts itself into the cell membranes of presynaptic sensory and motor neurons, causing them to dump neurotransmitters into your synapses. In addition, it binds to your endocrine system to dump insulin into your body. Female black widow venom can literally kill you. Don't be dumb. There are much better ways to enhance ACh release than trying to microdose black widow venom.
