Got my first panic attack after two months taking that 500mg rhodiola thing

I've started taking Rhodiola extract 500mg once a day about two months ago. I felt a good improvement in energy in the end of my days. Also felt that the effect of caffeine (from coffee, taken 1-2 times a day) is increased.
Then I've got this panic attack while trying to sleep. I have no particular worries in life, nor phobias. I'm pretty sure it's something related to my rhodiola pills. I'm reading a lot about the subject and it seems we should really care about the dosage. So, be careful about that popular 500mg daily dosage in case you're looking for anxiety reduction. After reading some articles I'll be trying to split my pills in three and take about 166mg in the early morning. It seems to be the recommended dosage for the 'relaxing' side of rhodiola effect. Any related experience would be appreciate.
Btw, the one I take is the 10:1 extract 500mg Rhodiola from Absorb Health, in capsules.

Both Rosarin and Rosiridin are MAO-B inhibitors. Also, Cinnamyl Alcohol is an MAO-A and MAO-B inhibitor. Those are compounds found in Rhodiola root, and are more concentrated in 10:1 solvent extracts. To give you a relative example, L-Deprenyl has a 99.5% inhibition of MAO-B. Rosiridin has an 83.8% MAO-B inhibition. A full water extraction of Rhodiola root has 84.3% MAO-A and 88.9% MAO-B inhibition. A full MeOH extraction has 92.5% MAO-A and 81.8% MAO-B. So the type of Rhodiola extraction, and the roots used, play a big role in the MAOI activity. You would need to ask Absorb Health what their extraction methods are. Them claiming 10:1 makes me think it is some sort of solvent extraction standardized to a 10:1 ratio of whole plant matter. If that is the case, you are getting very high inhibition of both MAO-A and MAO-B, which would explain your panic attacks.
