Can anyone help explain the mechanism for which excess Choline can cause mood disturbances? (e.g depression)

I am trying to find more information pertaining to exact mechanism excess Choline has which causes many people to have mood disturbances. I have not been able to find any particular studies on this matter, though I have seen it mentioned, and have seen speculation that it is somehow related to dopamine in one way or another.
The thing that really interests me, is that it seems to be an issue with all types of exogenous Choline(including CDP-choline which is interesting in itself, as CDP-choline has been shown to increase dopamine receptor density), and even AChE Inhibitors such as Aricept(Donepezil).
Could anyone help explain what exactly is going on here? It seems that this is most evident when users over-dose Choline sources, but I am looking for the reason it has such a profound effect on a users mood.

I took high dose of cytisine last night with no tolerance. I seemed to go into REM all night and woke up psychotic sorta. Also strong visual distortion and strobing vision. If I stared in the mirror it warped like psychedelics.
I had no tolerance for it and did 3/4 dropper.
I was highly sensitive and confused today. Could be anticholinergic rebound or downregulation.
I used to get like this all the time.
I was depressed sorta but felt numb too like it was ok. But it influenced my actions a lot. I'd complain and talk really emotional but feel kinda nice. Whereas glutamate drugs make me act really appropriate but feel terrified and disturbed emotionally.
Also the visual changes imply that my glutamate is altered.

It really makes the visuals seem lame lol. So simple.
It's just the pattern that results from strobing vision. And possibly synchronization of visual pixel frequencies. Normally I think they are more desynchronous. Creating noise from the pixels. But synchronousity can cause flashing and geometry illusions. Like ripples in a pond. Strobe lights force synchronizing of the neurons for vision which is why they can induce sober visuals at 16-40 hz or something.
So cytisine or REM sleep has caused my vision to strobe. Any theory?

Cytisine certainly enhances glutamate release, like other NACh agonists. Whether or not you can conclude the visual effects are due to that glutamate modulation, I am not sure. It's possible, but I don't know the mechanism.
