What is your experience with various brands? I am currently taking the Host Defense brand, but I can't say I feel any benefits. I have tried various dosages: 1 gram, 2 grams, and even 3 grams (which is not sustainable due to cost). I would like to try another brand; I would love some recommendations for quality extracts.

I was under the impression that the compound of interest in Lion's Mane regarding NGF production is Hericenone and is found in the mycelium. Am I mistaken? I've been specifically buying products containing mycelium.

Hericenones are found in the fruiting bodies, not the mycelium. Erinacines are what is found in the mycelium. There are over 30 different Hericenones and Erinacines as well, and some of them have no effect on NGF. This is what myself and the mycologist are researching right now, so that we can come out with the best extract for NGF.
