Actually, there is an ancient mead recipe where you throw the entire bee hive into the mash that is supposed to actually derive medicinal value from the fermented Bee venom. Cobra venom is supposed to be a very potent source of NGF... there's a lot to be said for these toxins: the dose makes the poison!
