Also, I'm actually seeing DMSO eye drops being discussed online as a means to cure cataracts. I thought you said it was too dangerous for the eyes? I must admit it sounds miserable putting that stuff directly on your peepers, so it was very interesting to know it's used thus.

It's too dangerous for me to consider using it in my eyes. There are beneficial uses of it in a clinical setting.
p.s. My grandfather used peeper as slang for penis. So it certainly does sound miserable putting it into your peeper.
