Hello,

Contacted the researcher from Tel Aviv University (TAU) behind this study in which he is analyzing what genes activate/deactivate with SSRI administration.
(see: Serotonin deficiency may not cause depression after all http://www.salon.com/2013/12/13/new_developments_may_help_those_with_depression_partner/)

I asked him if he may replicate the same study with NSI-189, which is funded by DARPA for the treatment of MDD (Major Depressive Disorder), to see if bear any correlation with SSRIs. I also told him I wondered if this could shed light more on how antidepressants work and better treatments for depression (maybe someday a cure). He said yes.

I am needing help of knowledgable users (researchers, chemists, etc) that can recommend a reputable source of NSI-189 with a representative in Israel, because the researcher needs such source quality in order to be able to publish such findings in a formal study. Here's the quote:

// I prefer to wait till a reliable company, such as Sigma Aldrich, Calbiochem etc will have it. With a supplier such as the current ones it will not be possible to publish the findings in a good scientific journal. As you are following this compound, I wil…

Maybe the general consensus should change, but a comment on Reddit won't change anything.

Ideas are the spark that instigates change. A comment on Reddit alone won't do anything. That does not mean a comment is worthless. I am doing a lot to promote the idea that testing programs need to be an integral part of everyone's operation.

I'm sure you know it is a lot harder than just asking a lab to make a compound. It's like pulling teeth to get these labs to take on new synths that might not work out. I've been working for almost 3 years on that Modafi
