So, newmind was out of tianeptine sodium and the only form I could buy was the free acid. Now, I've read some disturbing reports online that it isn't active? Please, tell me this isnt true and it just has lower bioavailability?
Thanks in advance for answers.

Or /u/misteryouaresodumb, could really use the opinion of a knowledgeable user. I've read your comments saying that it accumulates by some mechanism in the GI tract but I imagine that some would be absorbed.
How about taking tianeptine freebase sublingually? Surely that would increase the bioavailability?
Edit: If it helps you to know, I have been a customer of yours for awhile.

With Tianeptine it is all about its solubility over pH ranges. Most salts of Tianeptine change their solubility drastically from acidic to basic environments in the GI tract. The reason we went with Tianeptine Hemisulfate Monohydrate is that its solubility remains stable over the entire range of pH. That is ideal for a controlled release oral compound. With the free acid, I would have to look at the data on it to see what the suitabilities are. Based on what I know of the structure, it will vary over pH ranges, since it is just a free acid, and basic environments are going to create salts in the GI tract. That will depend on food intake and other things too. So it will probably be more variable in effects, depending on the pH of your GI tract.
As to the reports of the free acid being longer lasting, but taken double the dosage, I cannot say. I have not tried it out. If that is true, I would be surprised. However, I am surprised all the time.
