How is that bottle sexy? I will make a sexier one!
I dunno I was assuming part of the cost was due to the design.
I have been looking at targeting orexin-A for a while. The issue is that it is a 33mer peptide, with two disulfide bridges, and a unique pyroglutamyl modification to the N-terminus. It is not a simple, nor cheap, synthesis by any means. Also, 120 doses in a purified water mixture? I assume that is deionized? Is is stable for any meaningful amount of time? How are they doing it for that price? Are we sure it is legit? That peptide is expensive to make!
Good questions I don't know if I'd trust it which is why you should get some in ;P
Could you do the same thing cheaper? I'd try it once at least. I imagine it cant work as well as it sounds. I dont need a 120 doses to see if I like it. Give me 40 for a good price so I can see if its worth it.
Also do you know of any known downsides to this stuff?

Design is usually a sunk cost. I don't know anyone that factors the design cost into the per unit pricing of their products. The cost of each label, yes. The actual design process for the label, no.
I am not sure if we could do it cheaper. I will certainly look into it, though. Judging by looking at the sequence, I would say no. However, my lab might surprise me.
I have not heard of any real downsides. I just does not lead to any improvements in people that are not sleep-deprived. It will only really help if you are lacking sleep.
