If there was a magic pill that reduced feelings of avolition and increased discipline, we should take it. We should hope to be able to change the homeostasis of our brains.

I do not think we are there yet, but if you are okay with ~~transhumanist~~ self-improvement ideals, you should hope that a magic pill that "cheapens hard work" comes along. The work itself has no value and we shouldn't fetishize it.

I'd rather take a robot out for a nice steak dinner; show it a good time. Life is about more than welding the seams on the frame of a Toyota Camry. Robots should know that.
