Raw Maca

Hello,

I have bought raw maca capsules from Puritan's Pride 1000mg. Intending to take 1 in the morning, 1 at night for libido.

The thing is that after i take it I feel like I'm lightly high, have a nottoo strong headache and I generally don't feel up to do anything for a while. Is this a normal effect on Maca?

Also, I've been reading about raw vs gelatinized, is raw really that bad for me? I haven't noticed any stomach upsets, but I only took 2 pills so far.

What about the glucoinsolates? Are they theorized to be part of the bioactivity of maca? While the amides/alkaloids probably survive the cooking for the most part don't most of the glucoinsolates break down?

The glucoinsolates might have some ancillary effects. However, I do not believe they add much to the stimulatory/libido enhancing effects of maca. And yes, I think they are broken down with a lot of heat. Not sure about gelatinization, though. They might survive that.
