Semax and libido
Original post in this thread

So I've been taking Semax (nasal spray version from Ceretropic) daily for approximately 2 weeks now in dosages of 600-1000mcg and I've noticed a decrease in libido.
Not sure if it's caused by Semax but I'll stop using it for now to see if anything changes.
Was wondering if any of you had similar experiences with Semax?

Huh, was thinking it might be a mechanism similar to SSRI's but I'll wait for someone smart to reply. Paging /u/MisterYouAreSoDumb

Can't say I have noticed lower libido. Perhaps less propensity to be distracted by sex. However, that is a good thing. Shits got to get done, yo. Ain't nobody got time for distractions.
As far as mechanisms are concerned, I would probably look to stress. The Russian studies show no hormonal changes. However, it is a fragment of ACTH, a stress hormone. Cortisol decreases sex drive. There may be a sub-mechanism at play that we do not know about. That is certainly a lot more likely than a serotonin-mediated mechanism, a la SSRIs.
