The first time I took Semax I thought to myself, "THIS is what a nootropics should feel like!" By far the most effective nootropic I had ever taken.
I think the emotional effects were not from Semax, but whatever is going on in your life. Then the mental state of taking a new substance amplified your emotional responses. However, there is a possibility that Semax could have caused it. It does alter dopamine and serotonin levels. It's just usually that means they are altered in a good way, giving you a sense of motivation and energy. Brain chemistries are so complex, though. Perhaps the altered neurotransmitter levels, paired with the life events, just overwhelmed you.
