Could also have something to do with sex hormones. Consider that most of the people who take this stuff are male.

It could also have to do with the fact that Semax is based on an ACTH fragment. That is your fight or flight hormone. It's not the full sequence, but perhaps it's causing emotions in some people, similar to a fight or flight event would.
