Jarrow Formulas Rhodiola Rosea - Effects?

Original post in this thread

I am experiencing very mixed effects with this herb, most times it's a slight mood improvement or reduced fatigue but then again I was taking St. John's Worts at the same time. Really what I am looking for is a natural herbal supplement that will reduce fatigue but in more in-your-face sort of way, in that the effects are very noticeable. Edit: I've placed in an order for Super Rhodiola sometime this mid-week, so I am looking forward to seeing how that compares to Jarrow's version.

I also hardly experience anything when I take Sulbutiamine: I've tried 200mg to 1000mg (500mg b.i.d.). Did the researchers scan the brains of the subjects after they were given Sulbutiamine?

I'm also taking 6 x fish oil which has 330mg EPA & 220mg DHA per softgel. So ~3g of EPA and DHA. I take all 6 in the morning or sometimes, 3 in the morning and 3 in the evening. Is this a bit too much? I've not noticed any negative effects, actually I feel like my vision has improved somewhat.

Jarrow Formulas® Rhodiola extract is standardized to contain a minimum of 5% rosavins, the highest potency available.

I don't think they're completely inactive.

There is some evidence that they relieve oxidative stress in the liver if you look at examine citation 127. There might be other minor effects not yet elucidated. Don't get me wrong... tyrosol, hydroxytyrsol and salidroside are much more important/valued/interesting for nootropic effects like /u/MisterYouAreSoDumb points out though with his citations.

Yeah, I always mean inactive from a stimulation standpoint when I talk about rosavin. There does seem to be antioxidant properties, though. We are going to run some placebo blinded studies on rhodiola preparations soon. I am going to be speaking with both ASU and UofA to try and get something going.

Has anyone tried Excelerol? I'm interested in trying it because it is apparently one of the best nootropics out there, but I'm a bit suspicious because I've never heard anyone talk about it on this subreddit.

We renamed it Salidrosol, and moved it over to Natrium Health. Ceretropic is no more, unfortunately. We shut that down earlier this year. It's the same formula, though. We just renamed it for legal reasons. The idea beh
