What does your doctor think of nootropics?

I have recently come to the conclusion that most doctors don't really know jack about nootropics. I tried to have an intelligent conversation with several general practitioners about piracetam, coluracetam, phenibut, adrafinil, etc, but they seemed to clump them all into a homeopathic-esque nonsense subcategory of supplements, writing it off as ineffectual and dangerous, apparently too busy to be bothered with minor research..
Anyway, as a medical student, I am curious about your experiences with doctors regarding the subject of nootropics. Any notable experiences? How could this dynamic be improved?

thank you for addressing this topic as harm reduction really should be a point of emphasis here and it's nice to see a company that knows and advocates for that idea.

I like to push the boundaries like anyone else. However, there are certain things we know to be dangerous. Taking two powerful CNS stimulants together is one of them. I take ephedrine all the time, and amphetamine on occasion. However, I would NEVER take them together. I like my heart too much for that.
