Looking for research on nerve regrowth after nerve damage

One of my optic nerves was paralyzed after ischemic stroke(s) 7ish years ago. I'm trying to understand BDNF and NGF. Will also take ideas about how to quantify progress with certain substances besides 'I can see better.' Currently testing noopept, left eye still wacky, but memory improving.

It seems like you want to get it in as close as possible to the damage. Could you do subq somewhere near eyes? Face skin is so different...

Ohh no, do not do that. Nasal would be best.
