24 hour hospitalization after taking Ceretropic's Hidrafinil--elevated Troponin levels

Two days ago I took 100milligrams of Hydrafinil around 11am. This was the fourth time I took it, the other times didn't seem to cause man problems other than tiredness. By 10pm I started feeling quite fatigued and weak, with headache and muscle ache--general malaise. By midnight, after going to bed, I started having hot and cold flashes and elevated heart beat (around 100beatsmin) which was accompanied by angina. I slept for twelve hours off and on and my heart rate never went back down so I went to the ER. Blood tests showed elevated Troponin at 0.9 and I was committed for observation during the night with a beta-blocker. Heart rate didn't return to normal sup 80s level until about 7am today--so 42 hours after dosage. My Troponin went down to around 0.4, but any detectable positive quantity indicates possible heart damage. My Echo looked good so nothing major happened it seemed.

I also took along with the Hydrafinil: around 300-400mg of caffeine, 400mg theanine, 15mg Vinpocetine, doses of bacopa, Rhodiola, and Ashwagandha. I also had about 3 servings of alcohol starting at 8pm the day of consumption before symptoms got really bad. I also worked out (weightlifting around 3pm the…

If that's the case, I think it would be wise to institute an automatic high risk tag for future hydrafinil/9-flourenol posts. It's unclear from OP's post whether or not it was hydrafinil that sent him to the ER, but by mixing it with so many other substances OP has demonstrated that he assumed hydrafinil was much safer than is currently known, which is clearly an issue.

It should already have them. It is a brand new and untested eugeroic. We even have a big red message on the site about the risks associated with its use. I put that on there day one, after we discussed it in the other thread. People need to be aware that this is not a proven safe compound.

I will also say that mixing alcohol with any of the afinils is a bad idea. People regularly black out, and have very bad hangovers the next day. I am still not sure what the mechanism is. It could be liver enzyme related, something with receptor activation, or a combination of both. I purposely do not drink alcohol on days that I use these types of substances. I had hoped that the shorter half life of 9-fluorenol would make drinking in the evening easier. However, it is always a risk. We still do not know about OP's family heart history, or what the cardiologist thinks was the reason. It could be genetic.
